About Marcus
Marcus Cassells is an Australian country–grunge singer-songwriter whose sound sits where country grit meets grunge soul. Raised on Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, Eddie Vedder, Stephen Wilson Jnr, and Australian legend Bill Chambers, his music flows across genre lines - raw, grounded, and rooted in lived experience.
His songwriting emerged from a need to capture life’s momentum and the turbulence of the human condition. What began as personal expression quickly revealed a voice with weight and texture - as real as the stories he was compelled to tell.
With a deep, rasped timbre and a stripped-back delivery, Marcus creates songs that feel both familiar and unvarnished. A voice equal parts gravel and gold. He carries the emotional weight of country roads, quiet battles, and the beauty and chaos of ordinary life.
For Marcus, music isn’t about polish or perfection. It’s about honesty. Unmanufactured. Unfiltered. Unmistakably real.
